Spring Newsletter 2026
Hello and welcome to the Spring edition of the Parliament Hill Medical Centre newsletter! We look forward to longer brighter days and warmer evenings.

Spring Covid-19 Vaccination
This campaign started in April 2026 to ensure that the most vulnerable in our community remain protected, as per JCVI and NHS England guidance.
The eligibility criteria for the Covid-19 vaccine are as follows:
- All residents in a care home for older adults
- All adults aged 75 years and over
- Persons aged 6 months to 64 years in a clinical risk group, as defined in tables 3 and 4 of the COVID-19 chapter of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Green Book on immunisation against infectious disease
Microsuction
We’re pleased to announce that we are piloting a new Microsuction earwax removal service for patients aged 18+. Microsuction is a safe, quick, and effective procedure that often provides immediate relief from symptoms such as hearing loss, discomfort, or tinnitus. Unlike traditional methods, it does not use water, making it suitable for certain ear conditions.
The service is provided by trained nurses at PHMC or Caversham Group Practice. If you have blocked ears or would like more information, please contact reception to check availability or book an appointment.
Walking Groups
We have a regular leisurely walking group on the Heath on a Monday morning. If you would like to join this group, please ask at reception
Do you have what it takes to become a Walk Leader? We are now looking for a volunteer to support a faster walking group – training will be given if you’re interested, please let us know
A Visit to Parliament!
We are very proud to announce that our Practice Social Prescriber, Christina, received an award for Outstanding Contribution to Patient Care and Practice Team Collaboration. Fun was had on the Terrace!
